Shade Pattern

Good Blue Herons seem blue-gray from the length, with a wide black stripe above the eye. In flight, the higher aspect in the wing is two-toned: pale to the forewing and darker within the flight feathers. A pure white subspecies occurs in coastal southern Florida.

Habitat

Glance for nice Blue Herons in saltwater and freshwater habitats, from open up coasts, marshes, sloughs, riverbanks, and lakes to yard goldfish ponds.
